Codenames Alain Haché, Ian Stewart, Kevin Caron 2-1. For the second week in a row, the black tile is picked, this time when Stephan overreaches with his clue for 4.

5

Played at Stephan's place. SMAKIP. All kinds of goodies are brought: gingerbread men, cake, scotch, chips; the holiday season is coming! We admire Alain's new phone, and the new wooden box Mike built for the Category 5 cards.

Category 5 Ian Stewart 39 points after 4 rounds, barely beating Kevin who was leading for the first three rounds.
Codenames Alain Haché, Kevin Caron, Mike Gerdov 2-1, with Alain and Kevin at the helm for the winners, and Ian as the face-saving clue giver for the losers.

3

Played at Stephan's place. MISKP. More 23andMe results, this time for Stephan, who is boringly 100% European, almost all of it French-German, as expected.

Perudo Ian Stewart Two dice left for Ian.
King of Tokyo Mike Gerdov We keep on rolling dice with King of Tokyo. In the end it's a race to 20 points between Mike and Pascal, and Mike gets there first.
Bang! Ian Stewart, Mike Gerdov The good guys (Mike as the sheriff and Ian as his deputy) clean up the town and mercilessly eliminate the outlaws (Kevin and Stephan) and the renegade (Pascal). (Though technically Stephan eliminated himself by having dynamite blowing up in his face.)

0

Played at Stephan's place. MAPISK. We discuss Alain's very European ancestry, from his 23 & Me results.

Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig Mike Gerdov, Stephan Reebs The richest castle is Kevin and Pascal's, worth 76, but the best score is shared by Stephan (66 with Alain) and Mike (66 with Ian). The tie breaker is these two players' second castle, and it is ... the one they shared, with 72 points. So it's a tie.
Medici Kevin Caron Kevin leads all three rounds and wins with a big score of 122, at least 30 more than the nearest competitor.

APSKIM. The first snowfall of the season in Moncton is a gentle one and does not prevent the full crew from being present, all the better to discuss hoof trimming, university financing, and murders by body builders.

Voyages Ian Stewart Ian explores five different ocean regions and wins with 61 points.
Voyages Stephan Reebs The marauder version. Stephan copies Ian and visits five regions, winning with 72 points.
Perudo Stephan Reebs A memorable game. Alain rolls five aces, only the third time this happens at the HFG, after Stephan and Kevin many years ago. Then at the end all 6 players are still alive with one dice each. In the end it is Stephan vs Pascal and Stephan's 6 carries the day.
